Reflections: The County Complex

$15.00

Reflections: The County Complex: Farm, Nursing Home, Jail. Dedicated in 1868, the Cheshire County farm located in Westmoreland has undergone dramatic change over time. Until 40 years ago an imposing brick almshouse loomed along the banks of the Partridge Brook, and provided shelter to both residents and prisoners. Today the complex includes an appealing 150-bed nursing home, a house of correction and a working dairy farm. Through the voices of employees who worked at these county facilities, the film documents the evolution in social services, criminal justice and health care that have transpired at the Cheshire County Complex over the past 50 years. The documentary is a product of the Reflections project, launched in the fall of 2007. It is a collaborative undertaking of The Historical Society of Cheshire County, Cheshire Television, the Monadnock Institute of Nature, Place and Culture at Franklin Pierce University, the Keene Public Library, the Keene Sentinel, and Keene State College.
