Historic Harrisville, Inc. to Host Fall Meeting of Monadnock Historical Societies ForumSept. 2008 The fall meeting of the Monadnock Historical Societies Forum will be hosted by Historic Harrisville on Thursday, October 16, beginning at 9:30 am at Cheshire Mill #1 (the Granite Mill), 69 Main Street in Harrisville. This program is free and open to the public. The Monadnock Historical Societies Forum provides an avenue for the more than 30 historically-oriented organizations in the Monadnock region to pool their collective knowledge to help support the collection, preservation, and communication of local history. The fall meeting will include discussion of the collaborative exhibit on education and schools in Cheshire County planned for fall 2009 as well as issues that historical societies face in maintaining their collections, especially those pertaining to "deaccessioning" surplus items For further information, please contact Tom Haynes, Director of Education at the Historical Society of Cheshire County at 352-1895 or dired@hsccnh.org. |
