This small record group consists of one series entitled "SUBJECT FILE" and is stored in one file folder. The items cover the years 1927-(1974-1982). The materials are arranged chronologically within each subject unless otherwise stated.

Jaffrey, New Hampshire was granted to Jonathan Hubbard and others in 1749. It was known as Monadnock No.2, Middle Monadnock, or Middletown. Moses Stickney was the first settler, arriving in 1752, but he did not stay in town. The first permanent settlers, John Grant and John Davidson, arrived in 1758. The town was incorporated in 1773 and named in honor of George Jaffrey of Portsmouth. The population was 351 by 1775 and had increased to 1233 fifteen years later.
