This group consists of one series, SUBJECT FILE, in two folders. The materials are from the years 1857, c. 1920, 1976, and 1981. The items are arranged chronologically within each subject unless otherwise stated.

Richmond, New Hampshire was granted in 1735 to Captain Joseph Sylvester's men by the Massachusetts colony. It was called Sylvester-Canada. It was regranted on February 28, 1752 to Joseph Blanchard and others and was incorporated under the name of Richmond. The first settlement was made in 1758. 860 people lived in the town in 1775, and had increased to 1380 by 1790.
