Teacher Resources

Educational resources are available on-line or by barrowing through the Historical Society's education office at 246 Main Street in Keene. Modeled after the New Hampshire History Curriculum, resource material has been organized by Era and by category in the form of programs, packets, lesson plans, wonder boxes, time lines and Monadnock Moments. Programs are primarily self-contained units of study that are in the form of an audio visual, video, audio, or living history presentation. Packets come in two forms. History packets are researched narratives on a particular place, event, time period, or people. Photo history packets focus more on a specific topic or place and include a teacher's study guide. Lesson plans are fully developed material that may be directly used in the classroom. Wonder Boxes are artifacts and reproductions on a specific topic for hands-on use. Time lines are a chronology of events within a particular period of time. Monadnock Moments are short historical narratives about a place, event, or person in Cheshire County.
