Internships

The Historical Society is dedicated to providing opportunities for college and high school students to gain hands-on experience through its internship program. You do not, however, need to be a history major to consider an intern at HSCC. Each internship is focused around some aspect of Cheshire County history and developed based on the interests of the student and the needs of the Society.

Three internship positions are offered each semester (spring, summer, and fall). Two positions explore a wider range of possibilities, which may include architectural surveys, archival processing and cataloguing, creating lesson plans, researching and preparing museum exhibits, developing historical tour guides, making a documentary film, or some other creative way of bring to life aspects of Cheshire County history. The third position is focused on organizing educational materials to be accessed online and assisting in the maintenance of the Society's web site. If an internship position interests you, please contact the Director of Education by email, by phone at 603-352-1895, or by visiting the Historical Society's main facilities at 246 Main Street in Keene, NH.
